How We Met
Sebastian, being the world traveler that he is, found himself living in Chicagoland for his work! Little did he know how much it would impact the rest of his life. While residing in Oak Park, a suburb of Chicago, he decided to go on a dating app to see if there were any suitable matches for him. Much to his surprise, he came upon a cute blonde’s profile where she was wearing a German soccer jersey – he just had to swipe right. Luckily, she had also swiped right and they were an instant match. After messaging back and forth a few times, they decided to meet on a first date in Oak Park.
Our Adventures Together
The cornerstone of our relationship has been food, travelling, and concerts. The very first trip that we went on was not even a month after we had met. Sebastian suggested that we venture to Door County in northern Wisconsin. This area is known for its forests and cherries. While planning the trip, Lynn had stumbled upon a list of the top 5 cherry pie locations in Door county. She sent the list to Sebastian and Seb asked, “Which location should we visit?”. Lynn’s next statement was integral to Seb’s love for Lynn. She said, “We’re going to all 5 places to see which one is best.” So thus, started our love for finding the best food – not only in Wisconsin, but all around the world.
We have been fortunate to travel to many places around the world. For some places, the beauty of the earth drove us to visit (Grand Canyon, Sedona, Joshua Tree). Some places the history of the place drew us (Rome, London). And then others, we went mainly for the food scene (Milan, Naples).
How He Proposed
Sebastian knew that he wanted to propose for a long time before he popped the question. He had all the time in the world to ensure that he got all of the details correct for his ‘proposal project’. Sebastian purchased a ring measurer online so that he could sneakily find out Lynn’s ring size. Unbeknownst to Lynn, Sebastian was busy sizing up all of the rings in Lynn’s apartment so that he could find the correct size. He took this information to a local jeweler in Memmingen and began crafting the perfect ring for his perfect bride.
Being the romantic that Sebastian is, he gifted Lynn a weekend at a mountain golf resort for her birthday. He ensured that Lynn’s nails and hands were ready for the day by booking her a manicure. After the manicure, Sebastian surprised Lynn with a trip to one of the tallest peaks in the area – the Nebelhorn. The cable car takes around 30 minutes to get to the top of the mountain. Unfortunately, the cable car behind us carrier up a raucous bachelor group. The group of bachelors seemed to follow Lynn and Sebastian around where ever they went on the top of the mountain. Seb could find no peace while they were around, but he was under a time restraint. The last cable car going down the mountain left within 10 minutes, so he had to make a move. Sebastian brought Lynn to a more secluded platform on top of the mountain, he kneeled down, and confessed his love for Lynn. Following her heart, Lynn said “Yes”.
